If you had asked me five years ago what probiotics were, I would have had ZERO idea. The truth is, I didn’t start to really turn my health around until 2016 when I got my first food sensitivity results and shortly afterward, had a miscarriage. I thought eating healthy and lean foods would be okay even though they weren’t organic. Plus, who needed vitamins when I was at a healthy weight and eating “clean?” WRONG
Holy crap, I cannot believe I’m entering into the THIRD trimester. Although I’ve been pregnant for awhile now, it hasn’t felt more real than it does now. I finally have a tiny belly, I feel movement more often (especially when I eat spicy foods), I feel more energized than ever, and I’m scared shitless as we countdown for the next few months.
I’m sure you’ve all heard by my instagram that we’re PREGO with our rainbow baby! It seems like everyone’s is posting the same type of news right now huh? Clearly all of us were all bored during the summer months while we were soaking up the a/c LOL. Truth be told, the hubs and I were not trying whatsoever (and please don’t tell me that annoying line of ..it happens when you’re not trying). I was so sick of trying for a baby after the miscarriage, frustrated with work, AND about to move across the country. A baby in that time frame was close to the last thing on my mind, right next to getting my wax. Little did I know that the altitude sickness we thought I had upon moving here turned out to be morning sickness.
Ever since my sister-in-law had my nephew and a ring was put on my finger, the amount of times that I’ve been asked “When are YOU going to start having kids?” is ridiculous. Because of the obscene amount of questions I’ve been asked and the hints that I’ve been “given,” the focus that should be on my wedding next month has slowly shifted onto BABIES. What do I do when I don’t know about something? I research. Anything and everything I can to get a good base for what I’m in for-especially because every woman’s body is different. However, during my research, I came across a lot of interesting, yet scary topics. For example: Bump itchiness (due to tummy stretching), not being allowed to take specific pain medication medicine (holy sh*t! ), the constant peeing, not being able to sleep, cankles, and being advised to not travel to places with mosquitos (wtf)!?!
Seeing that my sister-in-law and other friends go thru their 9 months, it’s clear that there are a lot of things that these parental magazines and advice columns DON’T tell you about. Since my sister-in-law is still going thru her first few months of having a newborn, I figured it would be better and more beneficial to find a Mommy who has slightly more experience.
